Peter Cullen almost voiced Optimus Prime like a shouting Hollywood tough guy. His brother Larry was a Marine Corps captain who served in Vietnam. Cullen has said that before his 1984 audition, Larry told him real heroes don't yell: "Be strong enough to be gentle." That advice became Optimus Prime's voice for more than 40 years.

Scooby-Doo first aired in 1969. A 23-year-old named Frank Welker got the part of Fred. In 2002 the studio handed him the dog as well. Fred and Scooby have been arguing in one man's voice ever since. He is the only one of the 1969 cast still working on Scooby-Doo. He is 80. He still does both voices.
