Harry Potter's Tom Riddle Has a Different Name Depending on Which Language the Book Is In

In the Harry Potter series, Tom Riddle has a different name depending on which language the book is in, in order to preserve the anagram in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets.

Harry Potter is one of the most well-known book series in the world, and most people will know of the villain "whose name cannot not be spoken". Of course, we're talking about Tom Riddle, aka Lord Voldemort.

Did you know that Tom Riddle has a different name depending on which language the book is in? Interestingly, it's actually to preserve the anagram in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. Understandably, the letters in Tom Marvolo Riddle (his full name) can be rearranged into 'I am Lord Voldemort'.

To accommodate the anagram into other languages, the name was modified.

A thorough list of Tom Riddle's name in different language can be found on the link in the references on this page.
