At Live Aid in 1985, Bono spotted a 15-year-old girl being crushed at the front of 72,000 people. Security wouldn't help. He jumped off the stage mid-song, lifted Kal Khalique over the barrier himself - and missed the entire final song of their set. His bandmates were livid. They thought he'd blown their biggest chance. They had no idea he'd just made them the biggest band on earth.

Zac Brown Band has sold out Fenway Park fifteen straight times. The band gives away four free cruises at every tour stop. At Fenway on August 2, Zac Brown stopped between songs and told the whole park he was buying every person there a cruise for two. All 37,000 of them. Four more go out at the next stop.

Joe Walsh of the Eagles was 20 months old when his father, an Air Force jet instructor, died in a 1949 collision over Okinawa. There was no support system for families like his. In 2017 Walsh started VetsAid, a benefit concert he plays himself, with the proceeds going to veterans' groups in that year's host city. Eight shows in, he is still showing up.
