The White House maintains a collection of over 13,000 pieces of flatware, including historic silver dating back to the early 1800s.

The White House interior is a 1950s building. Engineers found it near collapse in 1948. Margaret Truman's piano leg had just crashed through the floor. Workers gutted every floor down to the bare exterior walls. A new steel frame went up inside the hollow shell, foundations dug 20 feet deep. To protect the 1817 walls, they disassembled a bulldozer and rebuilt it inside.

Hurricane was a Secret Service Belgian Malinois on duty at the White House. In October 2014, a man jumped the north fence. Hurricane charged in and took repeated kicks and punches. He pinned the intruder on the lawn until agents arrived. He medically retired in 2016 and went home with his handler - the most decorated dog in US history.
