Bob Ross painted roughly 30,000 works in his lifetime - nearly triple Picasso's output. For each of his 381 TV episodes, he painted three versions of the same scene: one before the camera, one on air, and one for his books. Today, 1,165 of those originals sit in cardboard boxes in a Virginia warehouse owned by Bob Ross Inc., which has never sold a single one. The Smithsonian holds four.

Bryan Cranston threw a full pizza onto a real family's roof in one unscripted take for Breaking Bad - and fans have been copying him ever since. The Padilla family in Albuquerque started getting 400+ visitors a day hurling pizzas at their actual home. In 2017 they built a 6-foot wrought-iron fence. Even creator Vince Gilligan begged fans to stop - calling it "nothing original, or funny, or cool."

Hannah Waddingham spent 10 hours actually being waterboarded on the set of Game of Thrones, strapped to a table while liquid was poured over her face for Septa Unella's torture scene. She developed chronic claustrophobia as a result - and called it second only to childbirth as the worst day of her life.

Each Friends lead earns $20 million a year from reruns, more than two decades after the show ended. A guest who played "Fun Bobby" in just two episodes still gets about $2,000 a year.

Jerry Seinfeld pitched "a show about nothing" in 1989. That show made him a billionaire. Bloomberg placed his net worth above $1 billion in March 2024, driven by a 15% ownership stake he renegotiated mid-run - his rep disputed the figure. Co-creator Larry David held the same stake and also became a billionaire. The show ended in 1998 and has never stopped paying them.

Scooby-Doo first aired in 1969. A 23-year-old named Frank Welker got the part of Fred. In 2002 the studio handed him the dog as well. Fred and Scooby have been arguing in one man's voice ever since. He is the only one of the 1969 cast still working on Scooby-Doo. He is 80. He still does both voices.

Fifty years later, he still performs Gonzo.

A TV reporter in the Philippines brought her puppy to the studio because no one was home to watch him. During the live broadcast, she kept the sleeping puppy hidden at her feet — only her upper half visible on camera. Behind-the-scenes photos went viral, showing the little golden pup curled up on the studio floor.

Michael Larson was an unemployed ice cream truck driver who recorded episodes of Press Your Luck on his VCR and played them back frame by frame. He discovered the "random" game board only had 5 repeating patterns. He memorized them all. On the show, he hit 45 consecutive winning spins without a single Whammy and walked away with $110,237. CBS investigated and couldn't do a thing.

Australian Today show host Karl Stefanovic wore the exact same blue suit on air every single day for a year. Not a single viewer, colleague, or critic said a word. Meanwhile, his female co-host Lisa Wilkinson was criticized for her outfits daily. When he finally revealed the experiment, Stefanovic said: "I'm judged on my interviews. Women are judged on what they're wearing."

NBC offered Jerry Seinfeld $5 million per episode for a 10th season of Seinfeld — $110 million total. He turned it down because he wanted to "end on a high note." He then went back to performing stand-up comedy in small clubs.

Before painting happy little trees, Bob Ross spent 20 years in the US Air Force as a Master Sergeant. He was the guy who screamed at you, made you scrub latrines, made you make your bed. When he left, he vowed to never raise his voice again. That's why he whispered.

James Van Der Beek spent six years starring in Dawson's Creek, filming over 120 hours of television. The internet reduced his entire career to a 3-second crying GIF. Instead of fighting it, he embraced it — launching jamesvandermemes.com with Funny or Die.
